It was started with a question "Is there any real castle like DISNEY castle?". Yes there is. The castle is called NEUSCHWANSTEIN in Germany. It was built by a Bavarian king Ludwig II. Tangram is a Chinese puzzle made up of a square cut. With imagination the cuts can be arranged into many things. Shaping animals is Da Hye's favourite. Da Hye learnt the word 'parallelogram' from the 'Li's Tangram Animals' book and many other geometric vocabularies.

Spending hours in front of TV watching cartoon animation? What about spending hours making it? Da Hye titled the animation 'Making Mama' becuase the animation is 'kind of drawing tutorial' according to her. This animation consists of 57 individulas frames combined together. Making Machine

On a project of making machine, Da Hye chose to make a simple machine rather than a compound machine. Her machine "Slidy Whity" help her packing up her paper dolls easily. It used the principle on inclined plane.

Scotland is located in the northern part of England. It is divided into three regions: the Highlands, Lowlands and Uplands. The traditional garment of the Highland clansmen is the kilt. Totem poles are wooden poles carved from cedar by Pacific coast natives. They are carved in different styles for different reasons. The book 'Totem Poles' shows 5 kinds of poles: memorial pole, clan pole, house pole, mortuary pole and welcome pole. Each figure in the totem pole has their own character and meaning. Wheel

Machines make doing work easier. They do this by reducing how much push or pull is needed to do work. There are several types of simple machines: laver. inclined plane, wedge, pulley, wheel and axle. Da Hye and friends experienced by themselves the 'magic' of machine. The WHEEL made it possible for them to carry each other in the wheel barrow.

Reptile 1

Turtle Sanctuary

Sea turtles are reptiles. They are cold blooded, have scaly skin, breathe air and have a heart with three chambers. Female sea turtles come onto sandy beaches to lay eggs. Many kinds of predators feast on sea turtle hatchlings. Da Hye helped the Alas Purwo beach ranger collected the hatchlings to be put in the safe sanctuary. It was loggerhead sea turtle.

Iranian Donation Box

In Iran, the government collects donation from people all over the country by setting colorful donation boxes in certain area just like mail boxes. Everyday these donation boxes will be unloaded and the money is collected to help the needy. After watching the documentary about this colorful looking donation box in Iran from Discovery Kids, Da Hye inspired to make her own colorful box from candy box and asked donation from neighbors. Total money collected: 1.700 Rupiah (25 cents)
